If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, then there was a great chance that Levar Burton was a part of your childhood. Star Trek: The Next Generation was a consistent family watch and I was always intrigued by Geordi La Forge and his VISOR. Roots was a beautiful miniseries about a horrifying time in history. Levar Burton was all over the place, but he impacted me the most with Reading RainbowReading Rainbow was a staple for me and fed into my childhood love reading. It was a gift to children and children at heart for over 20 years.

When I found out Levar Burton was starting a podcast, I was super excited. When I found out what the podcast actually was, I was even more excited! Levar Burton Reads has been described as “Reading Rainbow for adults.” It is such a fantastic, free resource for listening to spectacular short stories. Levar Burton doesn’t just read the stories, he performs them. The production value is also really good. I encourage anyone that enjoys short fiction, Levar Burton, or both to take advantage of this great gift!
